Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Announced, Rewards For Participants

Monster Hunter Wilds developer and publisher Capcom has announced the open beta for the upcoming next major installment in its long-running franchise.

The open beta, which will be available in PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, will begin on November 1 at 11:00AM (GMT+8) and will run until November 4, 2024, at 10:59 AM (GMT+8). Additionally, PlayStation Plus members will get exclusive early access to the open beta from October 29 at 11:00AM (GMT+8) to October 31, 2024, at 10:59 AM (GMT+8). PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core/Ultimate are not required to join the open beta. Cross-play between platforms will also be available during the open beta.

The Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will feature character creation, a quest from the start of the story, and a hunt quest. For character creation, players will be able to transfer their character creation data to the full game when it’s released. The story quest will include cutscenes and a basic tutorial that will lead up to a hunt for Chatacabra, while the hunt quest will task players with hunting down an Alpha Doshaguma. By using the SOS Flare feature, players will be able to call up to three other players to join them. Players can also speak with the handler, Alma, at the quest counter to change their multiplayer settings, including the number of players.

Those who participate in the open beta will get the “Palico Teddy” pendant decoration as well as an pack of assorted consumable items (Mega Potion, Ration, etc.) as a reward for trying out the game. The rewards will be obtainable as downloadable content after the game’s full release.
