Monster Hunter Rise developer and publisher Capcom has announced Sonic the Hedgehog and Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection collaboration events for the game, both of which will feature even quests where players will be able to collect special collaboration items.
The Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection collaboration will be the first of the two new collaborations to release and will be available in Monster Hunter Rise on October 29, 2021. During the collaboration, players will be able to take on the event quest and obtain layered armor to turn their hunter into Arthur as well as turn their kunai into Arthur’s iconic lance. The Arthur layered armor will also feature its own special animation during the Quest Completed screen.
Monster Hunter Rise is also collaborating with Sonic the Hedgehog to celebrate the latter’s 30th anniversary. The collaboration event quest will arrive sometime in November but Capcom has yet to announce what it will be and what players will be able to get from it, although more information should be announced soon.
Additionally, Capcom also unveiled two of the monsters that players will be able to hunt in the game’s first expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The flagship monster of the series, which can be seen in the expansion’s teaser trailer, is called Malzeno and is classified as an Elder Dragon. Shogun Ceanataur, originally from Monster Hunter 2, is also making a comeback as it will also appear in Sunbreak.
Monster Hunter Rise is currently available on the Nintendo Switch. It is also coming to PC via Steam on January 13, 2022.
