Converge ICT announced last night that the speeds for the current FiberX plans will be upgraded.
The FiberX 2500 (50Mbps) and FiberX 3500 (100Mbps) plans will be getting an increase of 25Mbps and 50Mbps, respectively. This bumps the speeds up to 75Mbps for FiberX 2500 and 150Mbps for FiberX 3500, an increase of 50% for each plan. These speed upgrades will be rolled out for current subscribers of the two plans.
For FiberX 1500 plan subscribers, an add-on speed called FiberX 1500Plus will be offered for only PHP 99. This adds 10Mbps to the current plan for a total of 35Mbps. Converge ICT is giving existing FiberX 1500 users the add-on speed free for one month for those that avail until January 31, 2019. For more on the FiberX 1500 Plus add-on, visit their official website.
The new FiberX plan speeds will be available starting today, with the free upgrade for FiberX 2500 and FiberX 3500 users to roll out today. FiberX 1500 users, on the other hand, will have to request to have the FiberX 1500 Plus add-on activated.
“With the prevalence of 4K quality video and streaming services, gaming, and those that work at home, the [internet] usage patterns are changing. We really want to support that service, more capacity,” mentioned Jesus Romero, COO of Converge ICT. “More people are using internet at home and there are more uses nowadays,” he added.
