ASUS ROG has unveiled new gaming peripherals as well as a new gaming router at CES 2022. The new products include the ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ and PG48UQ monitors, Fusion II series headsets, Strix Flare II Animate keyboard, Chakram X mouse, and the quad-band Rapture GT-AXE16000 WiFi 6E gaming router.
ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ and PG48UQ
The new ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ (42-inch) and PG48UQ (48-inch) are the world’s first monitors to feature an anti-glare micro-texture coating meant to reduce glare. Both feature 4K resolution OLED panels with a refresh rate of 120Hz, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.1 ms response time, true 10-bit color, and 98% DCI-P3 color coverage. The new displays are said to be factory pre-calibrated to Delta E < 2 color accuracy.
The PG42UQ and PG48UQ are also equipped with a thermal solutions that incorporates a custom heatsink and an internal airflow layout to optimize heat exchange. The thermal solution is meant to keep the monitors’ operating temperatures below 50-degrees C while achieving a peak brightness of 900 nits.
The new monitors are equipped with two HDMI 2.1 FRL ports to fully take advantage of its 4K 120Hz panel, especially for console gaming. They’re also equipped with two HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB hub.
ROG Fusion II 500 & 300
The new ROG Fusion II 500 and 300 gaming headsets are equipped with an ESS 9280 Quad DAC, 50mm ASUS Essence drivers, and virtual 7.1 surround sound technology. Both are also equipped with concealed AI Beamforming Microphones that are backed by the company’s AI Noise Cancelation technology.
The Fusion II 500 also features Game Chat volume control and is equipped with a 3.5mm connector as well as USB-C and USB Type-A connectors for use with PCs and Macs, as well as PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles, and mobile devices. While the Fusion II 300 is identical to the Fusion II 500, it doesn’t come with the aforementioned 3.5mm connector and Game Chat volume control. Both headsets also feature ASUS Aura RGB lighting.
ROG Strix Flare II Animate
The ROG Strix Flare II Animate is the company’s latest gaming keyboard and now features an AniMe Matrix LED display like the one found on the ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop. The new keyboard also features hot-swappable switches, a detachable wrist rest with a built-in light diffuser, as well as metal media and volume controls.
The new keyboard also features an ROG Switch Stabilizer mechanism for smoother keystrokes, built-in sound-dampening foam for better typing acoustics, and a USB passthrough port. The Strix Flare II Animate comes with ROG NX mechanical switches as well as ROG PBT doubleshot keycaps.
ROG Chakram X
The new ROG Chakram X is the first to feature the company’s new ROG AimPoint optical sensor that has a DPI of 36,000, a polling rate of 8,000Hz, and is said to have a CPI deviation of less than 1%.
The mouse is equipped with a new concave joystick that can be used in both analog or digital mode along with four thumb buttons. The left and right mouse buttons feature a pivoted mechanism for better responsiveness and tactile feel as well as the company’s new Push-Fit Switch Socket II design that is now compatible with both 3-pin mechanical and 5-pin optical switches.
The magnetic top cover and buttons allow easy access to the switches, customizable logo, and wireless RF receiver bay. There’s also a DPI button on the mouse’s underside to adjust the sensor sensitivity levels.
The ROG Chakram also features three connectivity modes, including wired USB, wireless 2.4GHz RF, and Bluetooth, and comes with 100% PTFE mouse feet and the ROG Paracord cable. The mouse can be charged via USB or wireless Qi.
ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000
Lastly, the ROG Rapture GT-AXE16000 is the world’s first quad-band WiFi 6E gaming router. It supports 2.4GHz, two 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, with 160Mhz channels in the 5GHz and 6GHz bands for faster performance. It’s powered by a next-gen Broadcom WiFi chipset and CPU as well as a variety of ASUS technologies such as ASUS RF, RangeBoost Plus, and more.
