Acer is entering the handheld gaming PC market with the recent unveiling of its Nitro Blaze 7 (GN711). The company’s first handheld gaming PC features an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS, a 7-inch Full HD (IPS) touch display with AMD FreeSync Premium and a 144Hz refresh rate, 16GB of PLDDR5x memory, up to 2TB of M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD storage, and Windows 11.
The design of the Nitro Blaze 7 is noticeably more compact than its biggest competitor, the Steam Deck, measuring 25.6 (W) x 11.35 (D) x 2.25 (H) cm compared to the 29.8 (W) x 11.7 (D) x 4. 9 (H) cm of the Steam Deck. The front of the Nitro Blaze 7 has the usual suspects, including two joysticks, a directional pad, four main face buttons, and five smaller buttons for other functions. It also has four triggers (two on each side), but no rear buttons.
Some of its other features include volume buttons on the top, two USB Type-C ports, a microSD card slot, two 1W speakers, a built-in microphone, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It also comes with a 50.04 Wh Li-Polymer battery.
The Nitro Blaze 7 also comes with Acer Game Space, which gives users quick access to their library of games.
